REFRESH

Medium-Term Offsite Directive & Intervention Programme

The Refresh Programme is a targeted initiative offering intensive pastoral support at another school in the network over a defined period focused on behavioural development.  It provides a comprehensive approach to address ongoing behavioural challenges that offers a fresh start for students.

What is the Refresh Program?

The Refresh Program is a 6-week offsite directive (your child will attend another named school in the Compass Network) aimed at providing intensive pastoral support and guidance to help students make better behaviour choices. During the initial offsite directive, your child will engage in the Refresh Program for a duration of 5 weeks. This targeted intervention is carefully designed to support their personal and academic development. If the placement is a success and everyone agrees, there will be an opportunity for the placement to be extended for an additional 6 weeks and if appropriate a permanent school move (Managed Move) may take place if in the best interest of your child.

Who is the Program For?

The Refresh Program is specifically designed to support students in Years 7 to 9 who are experiencing persistent behavioural concerns. If your child falls into this category and previous in-school interventions have not yielded the desired results, the Refresh Program is here to provide targeted support.

Target Cohort

  • Years 7 to 9: The program is tailored for students in these critical years of their education.

  • Ongoing Behavioural Concerns: If your child has been grappling with ongoing behavioural challenges that have not been effectively addressed through in-school interventions, the Refresh Program is designed to provide additional support.

Program Objectives

  • Behavioural Transformation: Our primary aim is to facilitate a positive change in behaviour, creating a conducive environment for personal and academic growth.

  • Holistic Support: The program addresses the unique needs of each student, considering both academic and personal development.

  • Delivery Team: The program is delivered by dedicated pastoral staff at the host school, ensuring that your child receives focused attention and support.

Serious Breaches: The placement may be immediately terminated in the event of serious breaches of the host/home school behaviour standards.
